作為《拓開國際：國立歷史博物館與巴西聖保羅雙年展檔案彙編：1956-1961》的續篇，本書延續了上一冊的敍事模式，以國立歷史博物館館藏的第六、七、八屆巴西聖保羅雙年展相關檔案為範圍，呈現1959年至1968年之間，臺灣現代藝術在國際交流中的發展，以及現代藝術的相關運作機制。透過本冊所收錄的檔案，除了我國文化行政系統如教育部、國立歷史博物館對於現代藝術的涉入狀態，以及外交系統如外交部、駐巴西大使館、駐聖保羅總領事館等機構在文化外交上的努力。另外，本冊收錄九十餘頁葡文、英文及法文等外文檔案，可以在本地視角之外，窺見現代藝術在全球脈絡之下的歷史軌跡。本冊從中輯選了三百八十餘頁予以收錄，並依據檔案內容，整輯為六個主題，包含「輯一：參展過程」、「輯二：作品徵選」、「輯三：參展藝術家及作品」、「輯四：運送相關」、「輯五：展覽觀察」、「輯六：葡文檔案」等六個單元。

As a sequel to The NMH and the São Paulo Biennial: Selected Archives I: 1956-1961, this book continues the narrative approach of the previous volume and focuses on archival documents related to the 6th, 7th, and 8th São Paulo Biennials held by the National Museum of History (NMH). It also showcases the development of modern art from Taiwan through international exchange from 1959-1968 and modern art related institutions. Through the archival material collected in this volume, readers can see how cultural administrative agencies in the Republic of China (ROC, Taiwan) such as the Ministry of Education and NMH, got involved in the world of modern art, not to mention the involvement of the diplomatic service in cultural diplomacy, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ROC Embassy in Brazil and ROC consulate in São Paulo. In addition, this book also includes more than 90 pages of documents in Portuguese, English and French, which help to provide more historical context to the development of modern art around the world at that time.
